With the performance of the “El Ombú” Children's Orchestra, Peña de Cantores and Open Microphone on Friday 12 April at 20:30 at the gastronomic establishment “La Fonda” (25 de Mayo and General Paz) and with free entry, The First Luján Tango Festival will begin, which will last three days.
The activity will have a second date that will take place the next day, Saturday 13 to 20 and with an entrance whose cost will be 100 pesos in the Ameghino Library (San Martin 485).
The “De Queruza Tango Club” groups will perform there., “The Juan Carlos”, “The Spike Down”, Closing the night was the great lujanense tango master Enrique Cuttini.
The third night will be the grand closing of the Festival at the “Trinidad Guevara” Municipal Theater in which the following leading artists of the current scene will be participating: Sunday Tango (Violoncello and Piano), Shipyard (Sextet), Hugo Rivas + Felipe Traine (The Tango Guitars) and the duo Walter “el Chino” Laborde + Diego “Dipi” Kvitko.
This concert seeks to reflect all versions of tango, be it traditional tango and new compositions, proving in this way that tango is more alive than ever. The entry has a value of 250 pesos.
The First Independent Tango Festival of Luján seeks to reflect “the events that are fundamental in Tango: The sorrow, The Milonga and The Concert. Has as purpose, also, generate the union of musicians, dancers, poets and cultural spaces in the area to strengthen ties between each other and promote more joint activities so that they grow, In our city, tango “encounters” either through milongas, concerts, new formations, new compositions, new letters, classes and more”, stood out.
The Event was designed and organized by Tango musicians from the city of Luján together with students and teachers of the Tango course at the José “Pipo” Ferrari Art School and Lujanenses Cultural Managers..
