THE FESTIVAL
Founded in 2007 By Mariana Docampo, Roxana Gargano and Augusto Balizano, International Queer Tango Festival of Buenos Aires meets annually to people both in Argentina and abroad are working in relation to the queer tango: teachers, organizers, intellectuals, musicians, dancers and students from all over the world.
The motto of the festival is to dance tango without the roles are fixed to the gender of the dance. That's why the event is not geared exclusively to same-sex couples, but to all people and spaces that support the proposal and to promote respect for diversity and from tango.

It is the founder of space Queer Tango in Buenos Aires and one of the organizers of the International Queer Tango Festival of Buenos Aires. Writer and teacher of tango and literature, He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in gender studies. He published the book of stories "To the edge of the tapestry" (2001) and the novel "Mill" (2007), and his book of short stories "Faith" will be published in the year 2011. His essay "Queer Tango" was published and quoted in numerous magazines and national and international books. He studied tango with different teachers and trained at the milongas of Buenos Aires, then deepen their learning in schools tango salon and tango again. From these studies it focused its search to the possibility of exchanging roles within a tango, technique that allowed him to explore egalitarian dynamics of communication between the people who make the dancing couple and inspiring seminars, practices and milongas in Buenos Aires has been organizing since 2005 (Milonga Women, The detour, Tango Queer practices). He is currently professor and organizer of the Queer Tango Milonga in Buenos Aires, as well as other events and parties. In 2006 was invited as a lecturer at the International Queer Tango Festival of Hamburg and the 2009 to the International Queer Tango Festival Copenhagen. He has taught in Stockholm, Berlin, Marsella, Nice, Brighton and London. In the year 2011 He is traveling as a guest lecturer at the First International Festival of Queer Tango Berlin
Augusto Balizano:
Is the creator and organizer of the milonga La Marshall and one of the organizers of the International Queer Tango Festival. In the year 1997 you receive a graphic designer at the University of Buenos Aires. It is formed as a tango dancer and teacher with Claudia Bozzo. They also were his teachers Claudio González, Julio Balmaceda and Corina De La Rosa, Gustavo Naveira and Gisele Anne in Tango, Carina Passaglini at work Partenaire and Soledad Pérez in contemporary dance. He joined the company Caviar theater under the direction of Jean Francois Casanovas in the spectacles live Caviar and Hot Voodoo. I was co-director with the company Brandolino Pacha La Terna, directing "Who's Medea?”, dance-theater work with tango music. Tours internationally to Germany, where he won first place in the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin city, and to England, where it is presented in the Pegasus Theater Oxford City. Miguel Moyano beside formed the first professional gay Tango couple performing in the most famous milongas of Buenos Aires and toured Europe (Germany, England, Denmark and Italy), They were also invited to participate in international festivals queer tango Hamburg, Stockholm and Copenhagen. He created with Claudio González, Miguel Moyano, Fernando Gracia and Paula Rubín dance group Proposal 5 presitgiosas performed in the most milongas of Buenos Aires and the milonga Ballhaus Berlin Rixdorf. He was sworn of the Metropolitan and World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires made. With Elizabeth Guerrero toured to East Point, Uruguay and dictates Tango classes at the School of Social Dance. Given its experience and dedication to the Tango and integration for the gay community it was included in the book "The History of the Tango" in the year 2011 by Editorial Corregidor. In the year 2011 Traveling as a visiting professor at the First International Festival of Queer Tango Berlin and repeated her performance in years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 Y 2016. He made European tours in the years 2013 Y 2014 visiting the cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Hague, Paris, Venice, Copenague, Larnaca (Cyprus), St. Petersburg and Moscow. In 2016 Y 2017 He was invited as a teacher at the Queer Tango Festival New York where he received an award from Friends Of Argentine Tango for his contribution to the Tango Argentino in Connsulado in New York City.
