Fernández Fierro Orchestra classic cycle began Wednesday in the CAFF, your own club, with the debut of its new singer Natalia Lagos, who took on the challenge of replacing Julieta Laso, “with the responsibility that involves being part of a group with a lot of history and poetics of which you have to take over”.
After eight years at the High Bondi group and start a solo road, singer Natalia Lagos, of 36 years, he received the call of “Yuri” Venturín -founder, bassist and musical director of the orchestra- to convene a party grouping, the same that had impacted ago 10 years and somehow impelled to explore in the world of tango.
“We did intensive work, I learned 15 songs in a month. They called me just before I left on tour in Europe. When I returned did two weeks of rehearsal, after Zárate and we played in two concerts at the Club Fernández Fierro”, He told Telam to talk with the interpreter, pianist and composer, He owns a powerful voice and a scenic great aplomb.
Natalia's story in music began singing blues and rock. “I liked the tango because it is much heard in my house, but when I saw I cried Fierro, I caused a lot of excitement; It was a perfect fusion of tango and rock, they created a way of making music. It was one of the first things I heard the new tango with Altertango. They are the pioneers, It was very inspiring for all a generation”.
“It's very flattering that they thought of me, I called a, Yuri had heard me in the Caff Alto Bondi. The orchestra is one hundred percent tango and tango is a giant language, where there is so much to explore”, said the singer, whose first album is “Stepping on my shadow”, a Proyect of “my blusecitos, rock songs”, defined.
Then integrated Alto Bondi and is currently presenting own versions of tangos and contemporary composers and groups like Altertango and Pacha González, among others.
Lagos did not hesitate to take on the challenge of joining an orchestra that has almost 20 years of experience, after the dismissal of the singer Julieta Laso, who decided to devote herself to her solo career.
“Pressures are unconscious, I am hardworking and I am pretty sure in what I do. A Juli (Laso) I admire a lot. When you sing the same issues there is an obvious comparison”, said the interpreter.
“Eventually you start to take part in the human in the musical. Julieta we come from different places, I'm Newest, but I have a background in rock, she came from tango. One has to take care, the orchestra is a place that carries some fears and a place of great responsibility, because it is a committed orchestra with many causes, It is a cooperative and has a very clear ideology”.
“I can recognize some fear because it is an orchestra as visible, but I'm also sure in what I do he continued, I know I have a floor that is fine. I also know that if you want to be more precise in what you are doing, you have to study the whole life. It's like life itself, autodesafiarte in life and in your profession also.
-Telam: – What contribution feel that you give to the orchestra?
-Natalia Lagos: Every musician who joins a project that is walking brings something new, especially you are putting your face. I think I can bring all my experience and my personality is another, I am also music.
-T: What you requires you as a singer and performer experience?
-NL: What I find is a very clear concept of the songs and I find it terribly tanguero, but not so obvious. The expression must be very clear, wealth is there. On the other hand, singing in recording Juli is like a momentary challenge.
-Telam: The idea is to stick with your own project parallel?
-NL: The plan is to follow, in the orchestra there is a real demand for labor that I might avoid producing , the plan is both. (Telam)
