Empowered Atypical Orchestra and great voices of current tango presentFlare, a tango concert that includes classic themes and new compositions by current authors, and seeks to honor the most recognized women of the genre of all time. Together with the orchestra - conducted byPamela Victoriano and made up of female instrumentalists, composers and arrangers - leading interpreters of contemporary tango perform: Lidia Borda, Sandra Luna, Dolores SoláIvo ColonnaMarisa Vazquez, Julieta Laso, Fifí RealLuciana ScherboskyNoelia Moncada e Inés Cuello.Presents Mariana Fossati.

The concert is part ofWe move the world, week dedicated to celebrating theInternational Working Women's Day, organized by theWomen's Ministry, Genres and Diversity of the Nation in conjunction with theMinistry of Culture of the Nation.

Tickets are free and can be reserved from Tuesday 3 March at 12 through the CCK page or personally, until capacity of the room (maximum two tickets per person). Web reservations must be collected at the ticket office of the cultural center, Sarmiento 151, from the same Tuesday of 12 a 19 and up to two hours before the start of the activity.

About The Empowered Atypical Orchestra

Empowered Atypical Orchestra emerges as a collective artistic project in 2018, of the meeting of twenty-five women instrumentalists, composers and arrangers with tango as a common language and space of representation. The ensemble seeks to leave a mark on the genre through its unique sound, powerful and delicate, with a feminist imprint and a formation that re-incorporates instruments that were part of the beginnings of the genre to the classic tango orchestra: guitars, flutes, clarinets and clarons. In search of interpretive diversity, It also incorporates six singers who give different colors and textures to its varied repertoire, which includes both classic songs and a new selection of tangos, contemporary waltzes and milongas, composed and arranged entirely by women and dissidents.

About Pamela Victoriano

Bachelor of Musical Arts and Academic Music Choir and Orchestra Conducting at the Maimonides University, Pamela Victoriano she is a composer, instrumentalist, arranger and teacher and her studies include piano, guitar, violin and singing. He created and directed the Río Ancho popular music orchestra,  the jazz orchestra Sisters Side Jazz Band and the Latin American folklore orchestra La Suculenta. Since 2018 conducts The Empowered Atypical Orchestra.

About the soloists

Lidia Bordais considered a cult singer and one of the best female voices emerged in recent decades. Her technique and aesthetics make her the owner of a unique and unmistakable style.. She is an Illustrious Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires, Outstanding Personality of the Culture of the Province of Buenos Aires, three times winner of the Gardel Music Awards, Academic of the Intermediate Generation by the National Academy of Tango and creditor of two Diplomas of Merit from the Konex Foundation as a Female Tango Singer.

Sandra LunaHe trained at the Conservatory of Music Manuel de Falla and began his career as a singer in 1972 when she was invited to participate in a radio program with great figures. He shared the stage with Roberto Goyeneche, Leopoldo Federico, Virginia Luque, Alberto Podesta, Imperio Argentina, Osvaldo Berlingieri, Edmundo Rivero, Mariano Mores, among many others. She was nominated for Grammy 2005 for his albumtango male and twice he received the diploma for merit as female tango singer by the Foundation Konex. He develops his career as a music producer, Vocal coach and conducts lectures on the method of interpretation of tango.

Dolores Soláhe is a singer, actress, composer and teacher. He is a member of La Chicana., group that for twenty-five years has revolutionized the tango scene with a unique style, the compositions of Acho Estol and his vocal and stage presence. Both with La Chicana and solo, He has participated in major music festivals in the world and his records have been released in America and Europe. With La Chicana, also, he won a Gardel Award and a Latin Grammy.

Ivo Colonna he is a singer, poet and trans performer not binarie. His powerful voice and his irreverent compositions as part of the duo BIFE of non-misogynistic tangos, non macho cumbias, and non-straight boleros wowed audiences across the country. He is currently part of the ultra-contemporary tango quintet Alto Bondi, with a new album near its release.

Outstanding contemporary tango composer and singer, Marisa Vazquez has a history of more than twenty years, that has led her to sing on stages around the world. She is also the creator and alma mater of the collective of women musicians TANGO HEMBRA, that carries out the International Feminist Tango Festival.

A unique voice and a magnetic stage presence highlightJulieta Laso,singer who knew how to be the particular voice of the Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro and now dazzles from his recent albumMartingala, nominated for the Gardel Awards 2019.

Singer, actress, trans nonbinary dancer author and artivist, Fifi Realproduces shows that intersect the struggles of the LGBTIQ+ collective with tango. Su hipamaThey yelled at me Fifi, written together with Mirko Delfino, was presented at the Teatro Maipo. Of versatile register and varied nuances, politicizes with ingenuity from his interpretation, making the public aware of the realitiesqueer.

Mendoza singer and lyricist, Luciana Scherbosky is part of the new generation of the federal contemporary tango scene. integrates from 2017 the duo Scherbosky González, with whom he published the albumMoment in 2018. further, since 2016 is one of the voices of the Microtango collective, with which he published the homonymous album in 2017. Worked between 2014 Y 2017 in Vocal Art, contemporary music experimentation chamber cast. Some of his songs are published in the bookWoman's look, the lyricists of the SXXI (2019), by Vanina Steiner.  

Singer, actress, teacher and producer, Noelia Moncada She is considered one of the most outstanding tango interpreters today. In his twenty years of career he performed in the most important theaters in the world together with the most renowned tango artists. His latest record work, Black House, covers music from the Latin American repertoire of black roots.

Inés Cuello is one of the outstanding young voices of current Argentine tango. With more than ten years of career, performed on renowned stages in Japan, China, Germany, Colombia, Brazil, among other countries. In 2009 was the winner of the XVII Hugo del Carril Contest and nominated in 2016 to the Gardel Awards as the best female performer of Tango.

About Mariana Fossati

Journalist specialized in popular music and tango, Mariana FossatiShe works as a host on Radio Nacional Folklorica and Radio Nacional AM 870. In 2018 Y 2019 was the host of the Hugo del Carril Contest and in 2019 of the First Female Tango Festival. Take part as a presenter of the cycleCarnival milongas. Produced and scripted the cycle of radio documentariesSpinettango a Lalala Radio, on the relationship of Luis Alberto Spinetta with tango and of tango artists with their work. He is a columnist for the section “Count a tango” in the Sudestada Magazine.
